Avatars

Posted on Friday 10 December 2004

I’ve been playing about with those avatar-making programs so that I can have an image of what I almost look like in my instant messenger box and it’s impossible to get an honest representation. They don’t do wrinkles, for starters. One I found that I liked let you give your height, weight, build and so on and would create a picture of what I look like in boxer shorts. I showed it to girlfriend, who after several howls of laughter managed a “Sorry love”, before further snorts of derision left her laughing on the floor. Below isn’t the image it produced of me with the real height and weight data, where I look like a God - I tell you, a God - but it’s as close to me as I could get it (perhaps too short) and it’s still laughably too good-looking.

Does anyone know of an avatar program that has things like long legs, scruffy hair and ugly face as options?
