Once, long ago (the end of January) I gave up on the old blog; it was starting to get me into too much hot water at work and unfortunately I am not a lifeguard at the local volcanic water pools. I’m going to port over the old posts which I liked (and are safe), edit some others and generally sort out if this blog has a theme, or at least try and keep to 5 or so topics.
Being English and living in Germany (I’m somewhat loathed to use the term ‘ex pat’, even if it is gradually becoming more appropriate) there should at least be a “living abroad/with the Germans” section, with links to people like these:

if I do the same -> have a “living abroad with the Germans” topic, I’d probably end up German bashing most of the time. But with winter time gone, I may have to call a “ceasefire”. people thaw a bit. although, some are as cold as ever.
fyi. my husband, who I dearly love, is German. even he joins me in my bashing whenever it is valid.

AnP: Occasionally, just occasionally, a bit of a moan about the place is kind of healthy - I’ve been here for almost 9 years now and Duncan double that. It’s not the I actively dislike it. Okay, let me rephrase that. Sometimes it’s interesting to point out the differences, that’s all….
