What Does This Button Do?

“(and to the pedant who starts “actually” and then continues by citing an episode and series number, I can only say that I don’t care, and I can trade in common misperceptions if I want to).”

He said. Could he be referring to me? I hope not. After all I don’t even know what a Corby trouser press is, and I certainly haven’t seen any televisual advertising thereof.

Incidentally, it’s not really a TV series, but if you check out the 1966 film “Daleks’ Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D.”….

Oh god no. I’d forgotten you were what you are now. I was thinking of someone completely different.

BTW, the Dalek thing, although Dalekless, was quite good, in an utter pap way.

And continuing our “he was never the same after the accident ” theme evening here on channel 4….
“I’d forgotten you were what you are now”

You know damn well what I mean, you vile child. It’s not my fault you are a palimpsest.

So what do we call you, other than whichever insult springs most readily to mind?

And what was wrong with the tree house?

[Sorry, just been distracted by wondering what the big red button on the comment box does. It took me a while. It turns out it’s the “I’m too lazy to type HTML properly” button].

“vile child”? The last person who called me that (my mother excepted) was from Surrey. Hmm. Do you have a sister, probably psychologically scarred now, who studied at a Scottish university in the early to mid nineties?

Being serious, Neil is fine, I was even considering calling this site German For Beginners, or Intermediate German, or Advanced German If You’re A Really Fast Learner - it was really my full name in the address that caused the problems…

Was the tree house okay? I thought it looked a bit too Dr. Seuss. As you’ve probably guessed by the links, lists, blockquotes and so on, I’m checking that the style sheets look okay. And hopefully if you hold the mouse over the big red button, an alternate text descriptor should appear, well in Firefox at least…

Vile child: Possibly a bit tongue in cheek (and you’re how many years older than me?).

No sister. How scarred and why?

Tree house: A bit odd admittedly, but then I keep wanting to neaten the lettering of “In” in the current title. And the ac of Fact.

Red button: It did have the alt (technically title, as Firefox doesn’t do alt mouseovers) text, but I just had no idea what it meant. The red button looked so tempting, as red buttons always do, especially if they suggest the end of the world would indeed be nigh if used.

The Big Red Button: It is attractive isn’t it?

I’m not sure about the “In” in the current title, nor the ac of Fact either, (the words “cobbled together quickly” spring to mind) but I’m moving on to previous file updates now, I’m sure I’ll screw up the installation somewhere and delete everything anyway….

I’m on CET now (okay MEZ if we’re being properly German)….
