Found Me!

Posted on Saturday 28 May 2005

Like Disneyland Every Day used to link to my old site which must not be named, and I never let him know of the change. However, the incoming stats (Technorati doesn’t seem to be working as well as it once did) show he’s linking here and upon checking out his site I find that it is as juicy as ever and today’s righteous rant is about Stem Cell Research, or rather attitudes to it:

. . it’s always seemed more than a little inconsistent to me that those who condemn embryonic stem-cell research as little more than one step away from Nazi medical experimentation usually blithely ignore the process that created those unwanted extra embryos in the first place — well, sure, IVF may also be an example of unnatural science impinging on God’s planned order for things, but that’s a-okay, because it’s for the baaaaaaaaabieeeeeees!!!

Oh go and read the whole thing.

Then look at this: Dog Judo. The voices remind me of the office.

Simply, I think that stem-cell research is a good thing. There have been coming from South Korea that their research has helped patients with diabetes. But, the marvelous George W. Bush condemns that too. I would not be surprised if he bombed South Korea over it.

You know, I think that this is the first time that I’ve been “read the whole thing”-ed by somebody else’s blog. An honor and a milestone, to be sure. Glad that we rediscovered each other!

Kevin: This isn’t the time and place to say “couldn’t be bothered to copy it all out” is it? Actually as someone broadly involved in developmental biology, I “enjoy” watching what your representatives have to say on this topic, I know it’s not the simplest (intellectually or morally), but I hope that the vote goes for the people who think like me (the atheist, humanist mob). And if it doesn’t, I hope that the scientists in question move to England or Israel or S Korea and need someone like me. E-mail address available upon request as per usual etc……
