Blogging will be light to non-existent over the next few days as I’ll be away. Hopefully the members of the North Carolina Cricket Club will behave themselves relatively well in my absence.
German Phrase For Today: “Bis Montag” – See you later.

Heh, the NCCC instead of the MCCC. Nice. No Ovals. More Triangles.
Off for a weekend in the nets old chap?
A quick tie breaker for the NCCC……..which 2 countries participated in the first International Cricket game?
Haddock: Um, maybe India and England??? Remember, we know nothing about cricket, which makes it that much more fun. (even so we managed to degrade it into a trash-talking contact sport)
Bavaria and England? You know, this weekend is the big gay pride march in Paris, do you suppose actual factual has come here? Considering last weekend’s pilgrimage mean?
And the answer is……………USA v Canada
Aparrently before the civil war, Cricket was the number one game in the south. In England it used to be refered to as the Gentlemens game. Obviously with the north winning the war, Cricket sank into obscurity.
Baseball has a very simular game in England called rounders. This game is played by girls and many believe was the fore runner of baseball.
Haddock, Sounds plausible. After the War of Northern Aggression, there were more important issues for us to deal with (like undoing the damage that the world’s most psychopathic arsonist dealt us ….Sherman).
Hi!
Just wanted to tell you that my blog is private for a couple of week, but don’t delete the link… I’ll be back soon
Greetings from Italy,
Anakina
EasyJetsetter: Nice Ovals / Research Triangles reference, but MCCC (Middlesex County Cricket Club) play at Lord’s - you’ll be after Surrey CCC for the Oval. Bearing the level of your cricketing knowledge in mind, we’d best ignore your England vs Bavaria answer - where on earth did you get that from?
Haddock: Yes, something like that. And USA vs Canada, in 1844 - I never knew (bless google).
Anakina: Sure, just send a mail or comment to say you’re back - I’ve got to organise my blogroll anyway.
