Even if you’re right, in many societies it’s considered impolite to say, “it’s your own fault”, whilst rescue workers are still pulling the bodies of victims of natural disasters out of trees.
German Phrase For Today: “ Bundesumweltminister” – Twat
Song playing as this was published: Jhelisa “Friendly Pressure”
I’d like to offer a correction. They’re not pulling bodies out of anywhere. They’re bypassing them to try and save the people who have been trapped on their roofs since last Sunday. They haven’t even started to count the number of dead because they haven’t had time.
I know a lot of Europeans don’t like Americans, but no one deserves this.
This behaviour is a shame. He had better kept his mouth shut and used his checkbook to send the rescue and aid organisations some badly needed money. I had never thought Trittin could show such a disgusting and dishonourful behaviour. Politics is one thing, abusing poor drowning folks like this cannot be acceptable in no civilized environment I can think of. And I do hope my good old germany is still a civilized place. I hope he has at least the guts to step back and stay out of public. Though it might do him good if he got kicked out of office in a rather rude way.
My apologies for those who got insulted by this minister, he’s a shame.
One can just hope that these idiot’s comments aren’t perceived as the general view of all Germans. So ein arschloch!
This is a time to rush to help and show compassion.
And send Trittin to the moon.
He’s such an uncouth ass.
Would you please post a full translation? I’ve not been able to find one. It’s best not to take the excerpts out of context.
My entire family, friends, everyone I grew up with has been displaced by this storm. I have 17 missing relatives and the town I grew up in is gone. I am really not in the mood for such pure acts of stupidity.
BlogFly: Corrections always gratefuly accepted
820: Whatever one thinks about mankind-affeacted global warming change, this man, one of Germany’s most prominent politicians came as close to saying “they deserved what they got” as makes no difference.I might be British (European pah!), I might not like the current presidential administration, but I’m not going to score cheap political ponts off of normal people who are really, really struggling.
I hope for your family…..
As a point of reference, I dislike the current administration because of a simple caveat..you don’t kill people in the middle east to make them free. It really does them no good at that point. OK,back to the US, Our emergency people just set up a hotline to call if you need help…FIVE FUCKING DAYS after the hurricane. Did they not notice the big ass hurricane bearing down on us????? The whole thing is shameful. These people who are starving right this minute are the poorest of the poor in the US and there is no excuse for a lack of assistance from our gov’t. Most likely, my family and relatives got out because they have money and cars. The poor don’t have such essentials. I personally am several hundred miles from the disaster and logic here is “fuck ‘em, they were told to leave” Nobody seems to understand that for many, this was not possible.
Oh yea, song playing in the background…Down in a hole. Alice in Chains. Repeatedly
820, take a look at how much people are trying to do, it might start to restore your faith. I highlighy recommend looking at craigslist’s nawlins page and the katrina wiki. Look at the private donations piling in and look at Navin’s interview on CNN. You’re right to be angry, there’s a lot to be angry about, but now is not the time. Not yet. Now we do.
Thanks Easy, I just needed to vent. There are children in harms way and everyone seems to be blaming everbody else.
