Much Better, Thanks!

Posted on Thursday 8 December 2005

Okay, still a bit snotty and achy, but much, much better. I even went back to the Apotheke and paid for the tissues. Anyway, thanks for all the wishes and cold remedies. Always looking for a business opportunity, I’m sure there one or two of them are marketable – I particularly liked leon’s “a good woman” idea. Now I didn’t get to do any practical tests this time, but I imagine we could go with the old Anadin (or was it Panadol?) tagline “fast, effective relief” or maybe “slow, languorous relief” or even “tied to the bed with satin cords, whilst [That bit has to go, this is a family blog – Ed] relief”.

Yes, yes I know. Putting in an editorial comment is pretentious, but I couldn’t think of something witty.

If all else fails, you can at least give the girl your flu and therefore have someone share your misery.

Ironically enough after writing yesterday’s comment I appear to have come down with an ear cold. What the hell? What am I supposed to do now, pour Benylin down my earhole?

leon: Iggy Pop: Lust For Life: “You know I’ve had it in the ear before….”
    Is that a a reference?

Haddock: Thanks for the photo, it cheered me up no end (and I’d just managed to hold down breakfast for the first time in three days). It looks like the service station near Mönchengladbach…..

Sin: Well, it depends if your flu remedy is the same as leon’s…..

that_girl: Okay, so leon recommends “a good woman” and you “hot milk and honey. What about a combination - either
    A. A good, hot woman covered in honey, or
    B. Some honey, a good, hot woman……trails off on one track mind—-

actualfactual: It’s both a reference and a genuine ear cold. I’ve tried various remedies so far and have settled for the old fashioned solution of “being slightly irritable”.

    that_girl: Might be a bit…sticky.
