(Agency) Mild controversy was raging at the editorial office of inactualfact last night after the department for lentil-eating, sandals and socialism called for the English flag to be banned from the website’s pages because, “of its strong links to right-wing extremism.”
“Nonsense”, the English Affairs spokesman is reported to have said, “whilst we’re proud to fly the flag - although not a cheap thing on a stick attached to one’s Transit van, what kind of person do you think I am? - it’s important that we don’t let a symbol of our nation become the exclusive property of a bunch of racist thugs.”
Calls for the ban came after it was discovered that bandwidth thieves were using the England flag icon such as the one at the top right of this article at stormfront, a particularly repulsive internet den for all your “White Nationalist Community” needs.
Proprietor, Mr InActualFact said: “Now, I don’t particularly like people who steal bandwidth that I’ve paid for, but I like the kind of people who frequent stormfront a lot less. The question is: what to do? The answer is of course, relatively simple: rename the files on my website and replace the original images (an England flag, an England flag merging with a German flag, a German flag superimposed with a biohazard symbol and a photograph of councillor Bob Piper) with something else.”
He said that he hadn’t decided which images would now be appearing on the forum pages although he had been looking at early Soviet propaganda posters. He also said that whilst replacing the Waffen SS image that someone was using as an avatar with My Little Pony was appropriate, the photo of Parminder Nagra looking absolutely gorgeous and waving an England flag was too good for them and that he was keeping that for his own, er, personal use.

Ahhhggg! Does this mean I’m going to be purged? Better get working on a new design.
Surely the word “purge” is a bit strong, Bob? I’m sure there must be a better euphemism…
Perhaps a picture of a women dressed in PVC with a Cross of St George draped over her would get Bob going? Oh no, you don’t fancy that do you Bob? The ENGLISH flag is a symbol of the BRITISH National Party isn’t it? My mistake.
How about a Confederate flag? Then you’d be the darling of rednecks and misguided idiots in the states too!
DBS: See, Confederate flags on vehicles just makes me think of the Dukes of Hazzard and watching Saturday afternoon television when I was eight and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Or, of course, last year’s film remake which makes me want to vomit…. See, what to one person can bring up feelings about slavery or the War of Northern Aggression, makes me think of Daisy Duke in shorts….
Is this the root of your shorts obsession?
INOAP: Quiet woman! Wearing short trousers in freezing weather at school is what made the British Empire great.
