Terror Scares: The Upside

Advert from Airline Network

Admittedly there are some minor downsides to terrorism, but what with passenger numbers down after the recent “everyday household items” scare, I’ve even seen a Heathrow-JFK return flight for £149 including all taxes and charges. Ideally, some kind of fatwa about increasing legroom would be just perfect. If you could oblige, Osama.

Could we also have some kind of fatwa, please, against The DaVinci Code being included in any kind of airline ‘library’? Although, for a £149 a throw, it’s a fair bet that something produced by Mr Brown, and laughingly refered to as literature, will be the payback.

I have to admit that I have read ‘Digital Fortress’ - (the shop at the railway station didn’t have any Tom Clancy and I hadn’t heard of the DaVinci Code at the time). Okay, I didn’t finish the book (there comes a time when one should give up reading a book - usually it’s 30 minutes after I’ve said, “This time I will finish Finnegan’s Wake”) so I’ll cull a review from amazon.co.uk:

Picked this up after reading Dan Brown’s other books (which i thoroughly enjoyed!) Unfortunately, Digital Fortress … lacks originality and the ending is very prediatable(sic).”
