As Technorati really is rubbish and as I like to wave to the people who visit me (it’s only polite and you never know, some of them might be cute) it’s about time I made a proper note of some of the latest people linking here. I know, I know, nowadays everyone reads blogs - or rather, everyone reads popular blogs via feed, but as I’m deliberately avoiding popularity by being rubbish, that probably doesn’t apply here.

First off, properly popular blogger Nosemonkey of Europhobia has finally got himself his own domain and a wordpress template which is going to look great. Eventually. The content is, of course, as good as ever. If you like Europe, don’t be put off the title, it’s ironic or something and if you really don’t like the untrustworthy Johnny Foreigners on the other side of the channel - he’s apparently not bad at film reviews either.

Next up, Gin and Teutonic. I’d pick this for the title alone, but the blog’s excellent too.

The Garden Of Whispers is a tricky one. Sumedh, the author, is “a writer, poet, a deep thinker, and a photographer” but also “enjoys nothing more than the simple things.” Maybe that’s why he likes this blog?

Lastly: Not a linkback, but New Zealand humour (yes, really) and you might all have seen it already, but I found it mildly amusing…. Some Of My Best Friends Are American

German Phrase For Today:Kein Bock” - I really can’t be bothered to come up with a phrase today.
Song playing as this was published: Madeleine Peyroux - “Don’t Wait Too Long”

Thanks for bringing attention to the terrible plight that I and all other American expats suffer. You have done us all a great service.

    *sniff*

Nate: Obviously I’d like to point out to everyone that I’m not an American, but as a liberal feel that you’ve got just as many rights as the rest of us - as long as you only do whatever it is that Americans do in the privacy of your own home, of course….

re: Some Of My Best Friends Are American
I fail to see how the US national recreational pastime (read - extraordinary renditions) should have any effect on how the rest of the world views us. The Germans have their drinking beer, the Brits have their cricket and the Canadians have…well, only God knows what the Canadians do for fun…..why is the US being singled out for a little frat house humor? I am offended, I think. er well, maybe not.

Oh…Thanks so much for mentioning me!And even more so for visiting my blog!

I think I pondered about here for the first time sometime long ago through a link from Vanessa. And I liked your blog, so come often since then :P

P.S. “As Technorati really is rubbish” - Amen to that! I used to think that I am the only one who dislikes it!

What a coinkydink! I only just heard the phrase, “Kei Bock” (Swissified, of course) for the first time yesterday as I woke my youngest up. “Grunt, kei Bock, grunt” he said.

perhaps some of your other readers are cute - we can’t all be cute, after all.

820: Well I’m certainly not complaining about Americans. I love you and your wonderful country.
Of course, nowadays you don’t know whether I really mean that or just feel that if I don’t say how great you all are (especially the employees of your secret services) that I might already have won a free, all-expenses-paid surprise scuba diving holiday in a barrel of water in Uzbekistan (equipment not provided, terms and conditions may apply, no purchase necessary).
As for what Canadians do…. If I recall correctly they club baby seals to death, provide useful target practice for the US Air Force and some of them pretend to be French.

Ms. Mac: I could have Swabified it and written “Koi Bock” I suppose, except that they’d never say it. It’s always, “Ooh, let’s get up and do some work! Maybe there are some freshly fallen leaves to sweep. Happy, happy. Joy, joy.” They’re, well they’re different than us.

Heidikraut: I’m sure that all my readers (with the possible exception of devonboy) are cute. Yes they are. Apparently someone even likes the look of devonboy, although she’s probably just been confused by all the marketing for Shrek.

Sumedh: You’re welcome. Keep up the poetry.

Well OF COURSE all your readers are cute. Some of us are fabulously glamorous too.

Antipo: “Cute” is probably the minmimum entrance requirement for general readers. I know that that ones I’ve met are fabulously glamorous and make fantastic cake.

INOAP, I think Mr Fact was referring to my dear self. Oops sorry! Was that your eye I just accidentally poked out with my elbow? I’m so, so sorry.

Oh, that’s very nice that is, I go and strap a dozen kittens to my person and I’m still not cute. Humph!

The original reason you strapped yourself to the kittens wasn’t to look cute though, was it, you pervert!

“Properly popular”? Aren’t you sweet? Nice things being said now makes me more annoyed that I missed you at the pub the other week. Will have to arrange an actual successful booze-up at some point.

(Oh, and the template’s almost sorted now. I think… Although I’ll probably find more irritating glitches over the weekend.)

It’s only perverse if no one else is doing it.. Your right though; if it wasn’t for the kittens, my other half would have absolutely no intrest in me what so ever.

Of course. What did you think the R.S.P.C.A. did in their spare time.
