Mount Penguin: Mmmm, PITA. With warm gyros and maybe some feta cheese and the obligatory 'zwiebsalasose' or 'alles'... (possibly channeling dubbed Homer Simpsom there).

Oh, and that mailserver is only hosted in Karlsruhe (or have they moved to Montebauer(sp?))? This site, on the other hand, is hosted in Arizona. In the end, I sorta kinda sent my c.v. off from hotmail. Thank God that's reliable and sends out a "I'm serious and have a firm grip on technology" message.

Okay, try again. Thank god I actually went to the lab and dropped off printed out copies of the application in person.

Modern technology? Pah!

Hmm, makes me glad I run my own mail server, even though it's hosted with the same people. It's a right PITA sometimes but I only have myself to blame when it goes down. Given the amount of spam flying about these days it's a miracle it works at all though. A colleague who administers a small commercial mailing list service reported recently that they were getting about one genuine mail for every 100 spam mails; I hate to think what a place like 1&1 has to put up with.

Whether it's the laptop's fault of not, I agree entirely about its uselessness. If someone wants to buy me a macbook for my birthday, I would be very grateful. It would probably cost less than dinner at chez bruce, say. Especially if one ordered the saint-emillion for the year of my birth,

Or indeed, "Auch zwischengespeicherte Nachrichten werden ohne Verluste zugestellt, sobald die Caches wieder stabil laufen."

"You'll get all those special offers for \ /i@Gra, just not 'til next Tuesday"

I would, however, like to apologise to the owner of the laptop who kindly let me use it only to have me complain about its utter uselessness. It IS useless and you should by a MacBook, it just wasn't necessarily the laptop's fault that one time...
