Okay, Well Just The Odd, Social Blog Then…

Posted on Saturday 31 March 2007

I could give up tomorrow, if I wanted to, obviously. But. Now and then, just to be sociable, how harmful can blogging be? Okay, apart those potential jobs where the interviewer quoted extensively and not always positively from the blog - but that was for a job promoting how wonderful life in Germany was – a concept which the blog might, somewhat, have contradicted.
Incidentally, and on a wholly unrelated note, might I just say that large, multi-national pharmaceutical companies offer hope and a better life for all mankind. Especially women. And the poor. Poor Women. Poor African Women. Poor African women in wheelchairs. Whose only help is their same-sex partner. Who has bad acne. Gosh, Big-Pharma’s good!
So, okay. Some words. Now and again. And sorry I haven’t written for a while, I, er, was busy. Paperwork. Yes, that’s it. And not really having anything to say. Hope you’ve all been well and see you next month.

What? It’s April tomorrow?

Did you steal the car? Or was that the April Fool’s joke?

Oops - I’ve just realised you explained about the car in the comment below the photo. I’m sure that explanation wasn’t there the other time I looked. It makes my comment a bit pointless, though! (So what’s new?! ;-) )

Appy, I’m afraid that I did change the text to make sure people knew it wasn’t my car - apart from anything, I walk, rather than drive up mountains (but that’s not necessarily the intelligent choice). It was bad enough that I stopped to take a photo, but it was *so* red. And the owner had kindly polished it after parking to make it even shinier……

You can’t give up blogging, I hadn’t blogged for ages and yet the urge was still there. I was lousy about reading other people’s blogs tho’ cos I’m a git but I am trying to get back into it a little.

oh and I have a new site but that really isn’t why I visited, no honestly it isn’t, I’m serious!

Red Baron: I suppose for you I should really have called this post “Okay, Well Just The Odd, Socialist Blog Then…”
It’s good to see you back writing. I suppose I’m just going through something of a can’t be arsed/can’t think of anything to write phase.

    Mr Fact,

You wonder why you entered a “cannot think of anything to write phase”? Luckily for you, I can immediately think of no less than four reasons that might be the cause.

    1) No more embarassing linguistic incidents involving pretty Stuttgart pharmacists or hausverbote at local do-it-yourself stores.

    2) Life in the English hinterlands is, well, a wee bit dull compared to the pulsating urban jungle that is the Swabian capital.

    3) No more encounters with reckless German motorists equals no more hit and runs and no more bicycle accidents.

    4) Way too much time spent on taking pictures of cute pets and flowers (see Flickr portfolio).

I’m glad I could be of help.

It’s the middle of May now… I miss reading you! But I guess it means that you found a job and/or a new girlfriend to keep you busy, leaving you no time to blog or nothing that you could safely blog about :-)

So. I’ve come back from the dead and have started to blog again, as advised. Now may I express a hope that there’ll be more to read here as well? ;)

How the hell am I supposed to wish you a public happy birthday (which, btw, in advance!) if you won’t keep on writing? How are things with you in any case?

Happy Birthday [it is today not yesterday, isn’t it?*]. Have fun? What did you get? I would attempt some jibe about ‘two broken fingers and a cracked rib’ being your traditional present, but, er, you’ve been very quiet for a couple months, and I don’t do superstition, but… So would you kindly confirm that the rumours of your demise have in actual fact been greatly exaggerated.

    * Look, I’m laying myself open here to your typical mass hilarity inducing deliberate obtuseness; if ambiguous grammar doesn’t tempt you to adjourn decomposition for a while, nothing will.

Hope you enjoyed yourself or at least kept the maiming to a minimum.

    Have a happy one!

My theory is that you’ve run away with the circus. Either that or you’re behind bars - The Red Lion, for instance. Am I right?

Goddam and I thought I’d struggled to find anything to say regularly!

Come on out of hiding fella, we know where you are! If not then remember I might forget that good word I was going to put in for you when the revolution comes!

He (neil) is alive - alteast the last time I heard from him, all digits intact.

Though, ummm… he has had a major, major loss - I do not think its my place to share it here. Just writing to let the others who are worried - much like I was - that there indeed is a reason for this prolonged disappearance from the blogging world - however he is kinda…sorta…alright.

I don’t know if this msg helps any - hopefully it doesn’t worry you guys further! - if/when he gets in touch next I shall ask him to stop by here.
