I first lived in Germany back in 1985-6 in Oberensingen, a little town on the Neckar. I remember the first time I went shopping I was at the register with a line of people behind me and instead of saying "Eine Tuete, Bitte" I said "Eine Tote, Bitte." Of course, everyone laughed at my mistake and the cashier explained what I had requested. I didn't make that mistake again, I can assure you. Heh heh.

Anyway, that list of items reminds me of shopping back in Swabia.

Appy: If I'd gone to Stuttgart, I'd have called in on you (and of course others) and shared "a" beer, or possibly "two".

Haddock: And despite having been to France and eating their so-called "food"....

The first time you posted this, wasn't the receipt from Stuttgart? Am I imagining things, or have you been travelling around B-W'berg buying ungodly amounts of the local fare?
