I love HMRC, no really - and I’m not just saying that in the hope that I’m looked on kindly. Okay, so they ‘misplaced’ the personal information and banking details of 25 million people, so perhaps I could count on them to not expect everyone to upload their online tax return until the last possible minute - causing their server to crash and forcing them to extend the deadline. Which means I have a whole extra day to see if I can’t find a (legitimate) way to ask for more than 29 pence as a rebate.
